Biography

Since 2008 I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings including residential care and patient transport services, before joining West Midlands Ambulance Service as a registered paramedic. I studied with the University of Worcester, where I achieved a FDSc Health & Social Care, FDSc Paramedic Science and BSc (Hons) Health Sciences. As an operational paramedic, I was heavily involved in the mentorship of other clinical staff, supporting their education and development within an operational setting. I also fulfilled the role of Airway Lead for my locality.

I became involved with teaching at university in 2019 and joined the University of Cumbria in 2022 as a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Practice.

I have a wide range of healthcare related interests, but a particular passion for biosciences, advanced life support, patient assessment, clinical skills, and holistic care for people living with dementia.

I hope to enable and empower learners to reach their full potential, so we can all aid the development and diversification of the paramedic profession.
