Some courses (it will be detailed in your offer if this is applicable) allow you to make up some of your offers UCAS points from University of Cumbria approved courses outside the A2 (or equivalent) that make up the main of your offer. These can be made up from any course in the UCAS Tariff for the Arts, Business, Science and Sport provision. We also accept the points your obtain in your A2 General Studies.

Criminal Records Background Check (for Sport, Youth and Community FdA Outdoor Education and FdSc Policing (Community Safety)

Working with children and vulnerable adults: a declaration of criminal convictions

Your course gives substantial access to young people and vulnerable adults requires that you obtain an Enhanced Disclosure with the university of Cumbria. We will contact you approximately four months prior to your course start date to begin the application process for this disclosure. There will be a fee of approximately £52.00 to obtain this disclosure.

If you intend to accept your offer, please complete the self-disclosure form which should be returned within two weeks of this offer to ABS Admissions, University of Cumbria, Fusehill Street, Carlisle, CA1 2HH.

Medical Clearance (ONLY needed for Sport and Youth and Community courses)

You will be asked to complete a medical clearance questionnaire which will ascertain your fitness to join the course. This is a confidential form which you must complete and return to the Occupational Health Department at University of Cumbria. This will be sent approximately four months prior to the start of your course, to complete and return to the Occupational Health Department. If further medical investigation is required, the Occupational Health Department will contact you directly. Any costs incurred must be met by you.

Evidence of GCSE/Level 3 qualifications

We will need to see evidence of your qualifications listed on your applicant form. Evidence of your qualifications must be provided by 31 August 2012. You will be asked to provide your COPY certificates OR COPY final transcript showing result of qualification OR copy of a letter from school or college confirming the qualification awarded to you. Failure to produce evidence of qualifications which meet entry requirements by the 31 August 2012 will mean that you will not be permitted to register and you will forfeit your place on the course.

If you have lost your certificates you must take steps to obtain replacements without delay (as these can take several weeks to arrive). Here are links to the most common examination boards websites from whom you can order replacements.

A Level / BTEC results

If you are currently studying your A-levels or BTEC qualification you do not need to provide these results as we should receive these automatically receive this information from UCAS (IF you have applied directly you MUST provide us with this information). If your results are less than the required grade detailed in our offer to you then you must contact the relevant admissions office immediately to discuss your options.

GCSE results

If your offer includes passing GCSEs you will need to provide confirmation on your results in August as we cannot obtain this information from UCAS.
