A celebration of the students and staff at the University of Cumbria is to be held later this month.

Formerly known as the Success Awards the Salute Awards twelve awards, ranging from Student of the Year to Special Mention Award and Volunteer of the Year will  be made to recognise the diversity of work that goes on across all the university’s campuses.

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate the students and staff at the university of Cumbria and the difference that they make to their place of study or work, especially those whose work may go unsung,” Rachel O’Donovan from University of Cumbria Students Union said. “We have had a huge number of nominations across all of the campuses which just highlights how many amazing people we have here at the university. The judging panel are going to have a lot of work on their hands and we don’t envy them!”

Three separate award nights are to be held; in Ambleside on April 16 at Brathay Hall, Carlisle on the April 18 at the Hallmark Hotel and Lancaster on April 20 at Lancaster House Hotel.
