What you will learn

Drawn from the MSc Paramedic: Practice Development Programme, this module will enable you to develop comprehensive knowledge and skills in clinical decision making in relation to the assessment and care management of patients/clients through contemporary paramedic practice.

Modules

The module adopts a problem based learning approach and explores the application of theories and frameworks to clinical decision making in practice; the principle of critical thinking skills, evidence based practice and audit.

You will be asked to demonstrate a rigorous, critical analysis of the models and frameworks associated with decision making while evaluating and synthesising the development of your own professional practice through reasoning and reflection.

To be eligible to study this module, you must be working in an appropriate healthcare environment. demonstrate the ability to study at level 7 and commit to attempting the assessment.

Prior to studying this module, you must normally have studied the pre-requisite module HCPD7050 Consultation and Physical Examination: Health Assessment Skills or an equivalent assessment and physical examination skills module.
