Happy New Year

Happy New Year name

Happy New Year to all our alumni

We hope you have had a fantastic festive break. Now the new year is here many people are making resolutions and setting goals, whether this is your thing or not, why not make 2024 the year that you connect with your alumni community?

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind all our graduates of our benefits and services, of the ways in which you can give back and connect with your University of Cumbria community.

The benefits of a connected community

Our alumni association is made up of over 70,000 graduates worldwide. Some graduated 50 years ago, some only last year. Some of us from our main campus sites in; Lancaster, Carlisle, Ambleside and London and some from partner colleges, through employers or through remote learning. Many members of our alumni community pre-date the University of Cumbria as we know it today and graduated from our legacy colleges; St Martin’s, Cumbria Institute of the Arts or Charlotte Mason. No matter when, where or how we graduated we are all equal in the University of Cumbria Alumni Association.

There are many benefits to being part of our alumni community:

  • Strength in numbers - With such a large community we all have such varied skills, talents and experiences, we can network and build each other up, further our careers and aspirations, we can make connections with old friends and new.
  • Alumni discount - Eligible graduates could receive up to 20% discount on taught courses if you completed your undergraduate degree in the last five years.
  • Library - Alumni are welcome to use the libraries for reference and study purposes free of charge during staffed hours. If you wish to borrow items alumni pay a reduced fee to join the library.
  • Careers support - Graduates are entitled to up to three years access to appointments, events, feedback and pathways. All graduates have lifelong access to our jobs board, sign up for weekly job alerts too.
  • Cumbria Network - Exclusively for all University of Cumbria and legacy institution alumni, the Cumbria Network is a mentoring and networking platform and one-stop place to keep you connected to Cumbria and each other.
