Semester dates

Our term dates vary based on the type of course. Students who are registered on a course with a non-standard or extended academic year, either at undergraduate or postgraduate level, will be advised of the dates for their course separately.

If you have any questions about your course start date, please contact your tutor or the Programme Administration (PAd) for your campus.

Term Dates (2021-2022 academic year)

Autumn Term 20 September 2021 to 17 December 2021
Spring Term 10 January 2022 - 8 April 2022
Summer Term 18 April 2022 - 3 June 2022

The term dates above are provided in the format as required by students applying to Student Finance England (SFE) or the alternative funding body for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Courses which run outside of the standard dates e.g. Nursing and Allied Health Professions programmes (Occupational Therapy, Radiography and Physiotherapy) and programmes leading to Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE Secondary, PGCE Primary, PGCE School Direct and undergraduate 3 and 4 Year QTS courses) often have different course start and end dates. Students who are registered on a course with a non-standard or extended academic year, will be advised of the dates for their course separately.
