MSc Psychology: Environment, Health and Wellbeing Online Events

Build on your existing skills and professional experience and gain a critical awareness of issues in Environmental psychology, health and wellbeing. On this programme you will learn how the environment can influence a range of factors including mood, productivity, and social relationships. You will explore how outdoor spaces can encourage affective restoration, promote physical activity, and reduce cognitive fatigue; you will consider who has access to restorative environments and why they are beneficial. The programme will emphasise the importance of sustainability and the impact of environmental degradation on wellbeing; you will learn about the psychology of sustainability and how both individuals and organisations can be encouraged to promote positive environmental action. This course is delivered online and asynchronously, allowing you to study at a time and place that suits you.

Course Overview

Our innovative programme provides the first step to enable you to pursue a career in fields related to environmental psychology or health and wellbeing. You'll be taught to use differing and specialist methods, equipping you for future challenges and advancing your career prospects. You will explore how outdoor spaces can support wellbeing, and how environment quality has a fundamental impact on health; the importance of sustainability is therefore emphasised throughout the programme.  This pathway brings together both subjective and objective wellbeing by looking at the interaction of mental health and the environment. You will consider different stakeholder perspectives and explore barriers to accessing restorative places.

This course is delivered through distance learning, giving you the opportunity to learn flexibly around other commitments.
