Biography

Natalie joined The University of Cumbria in May 2024 as a Lecturer in the Assistant Practitioner Programme. Before transitioning to academia, Natalie was employed as a Senior Radiographer at a local NHS trust in the North West, where she held responsibilities as a Quality Assurance Lead. In this role, she was instrumental in ensuring high standards of radiation safety and radiographic practice. With a rich background in clinical practice, student mentorship and assessments, she brings experience and context to her role, particularly in the training and development of healthcare professionals.  This hands-on experience has provided her with a strong foundation in clinical education, enabling her to effectively teach and mentor students in the Assistant Practitioner Programme.
Natalie is passionate about bridging the gap between clinical practice and academic learning. She is committed to providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their professional careers, providing support and guidance to help students excel and reach their full potential. She is dedicated to contributing to the ongoing improvement of healthcare education and supporting the next generation of clinical professionals.
