Biography

Zoe Garnett-Scott is a Lecturer at the University of Cumbria Institute of the Arts, teaching on all levels of the BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Illustation courses. Zoe's primary role is as Lead Tutor for Year 0 (Foundation), ensuring our level 3 students have a thorough grounding and in-depth knowledge of both subjects.

As part of an active recruitment team, Zoe visits many schools and colleges giving presentations about the exciting art, design and media courses offered by the Institute.  Through this role, Zoe participates regularly at local schools' and colleges' career events providing talks, portfolio surgeries and creative industry career advice.

She is course module leader for Professional Practice and has forged strong links between the two courses and the local, national and international creative community. Maintaining close relationships with Institute alumni, Zoe arranges presentations from ex-students as well as visits from other established and respected creative practitioners, and has supervised course visits to both local and national design agencies

With over 15 years in professional editorial design practice, Zoe has managed creative teams within a variety of fashion and media companies. Whilst running her own freelancing consultancy, Zoe offered art direction and styling services for fashion/lifestyle/media clients
