BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering

3 year degree programme

(*Please be aware that many roles at BAE Systems are subject to both security and export control restrictions. These restrictions mean that factors such as your nationality, any nationalities you may have previously held, and your place of birth can restrict the roles you are eligible to perform within the organisation. All applicants will be required to achieve a level of security vetting. Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks)

How to apply

The Future Talent Scholarship application process will commence upon receipt of an offer from the University of Cumbria for one of the qualifying degree programmes. Information about the scholarship and how to apply will be sent to you at this stage.

After you have accepted your offer with UCAS, your application will be sent to the Future Talent Scholarship team for consideration.

Eligibility criteria

  1. You must be a UK national
  2. You must successfully complete security clearance

The application process

  1. Accept your offer of a place from the University of Cumbria.
  2. Begin your scholarship application — this will also start your security clearance process sent to you via email.
  3. You will be assigned a dedicated contact who will guide you through the security clearance process.
  4. Once your security clearance is approved and your UK nationality confirmed, you will be informed of when you will receive the first instalment of your financial award.
