Distant Placements

North West students who successfully complete their developing placement and pass a selection process may have the chance to undertake their extending placement with the Learning in Harmony Trust (LIHT). This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working with pupils from a wide range of backgrounds in a dynamic and inclusive educational setting.

To be considered, students should be proactive, self-motivated, and ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of working in diverse school environments.

How to Apply:

• Briefings will be held on both Carlisle and Lancaster campuses early in Semester One.
• Interested students will be invited to submit an expression of interest.
• Interviews will take place during the first half of Semester Two.

Primary students whose home address is in Ireland or Northern Ireland may choose to complete a placement there. If you opt for this route, you’ll be expected to live at your home address while on placement.

Students who are invited to attend a distant placement will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in making and paying for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
