Happy New Year to all. Welcome back to our current September Cohort students! Welcome to our new January Cohort! And Goodbye to our 2023 Jan cohort!
The Jan '23 cohort have just completed their Extending placement, with all students successfully achieving Qualified Teacher Status. This remarkable group spent their final session reflecting back on their journey through the course. Their thoughts about how they have changed as person and as a teacher over their time on the course, highlight their resilience, fulfilment, and sense of achievement. The talk this week was of interviews, future plans and excitement for the start of their new careers.
The September cohort were briefly back on campus following their Beginning Placement prior to Christmas and have been talking animatedly about their growing understanding of the role of a teacher and the development they have already experienced. They have learned plenty about themselves, managing expectations, building professional relationships and their own resilience and capacity. It is exciting to work with such a dynamic group. They are now in the process of finding out about their next placement and hopeful for the opportunities that will bring and to be working with children again.
The new January '24 cohort have already had the chance to meet online, in advance of joining us next week, to ask any last-minute questions and to get to meet some of their tutors, who are ready to support them over the next twelve months. The new group will arrive from all over the UK and from wide ranging international destinations. We look forward to welcoming them on 8th Jan as they start on a new adventure. As the last cohort said, to get the best out of the course trust the process, be mutually supportive and always make the individual children in your care the main focus.
December & January have also provided the chance for a number of students to engage with research alongside their tutors which will shape the future provision on the programme. We are grateful for their time, insight & commitment and look forward to bringing their reflections to life.
