Biography
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 2007, training at Northumbria University.
Following the birth of my children, I went on to study to be a Midwife at the University of Cumbria, qualifying in 2017. As a midwife I worked in clinical practice with North Cumbria Integrated Care Trust in both the hospital and the community setting, but spent majority of the last few years working as a community midwife.
I have always enjoyed working with students and found it incredibly rewarding, so when a position for a lecturer at the university arose, it was an opportunity I could not miss. I was delighted to be offered the role and have recently taken up a full-time post here at the University of Cumbria as a lecture in Midwifery and look forward to supporting students on their midwifery journey.
I will be responsible for leading some of the modules on the programme and supporting my new colleagues in their work, along with being a personal tutor and academic assessor.
I will be working towards my PGLT and studying towards my Masters qualification, here at the University of Cumbria.
