Helen was a Head of Maths in an 11-18 secondary school and has also taught in primary schools, including being a subject leader in that sector. Her role with the University is part time.
Helen has worked for the North North West Maths Hub for three years and continues to work with them as the NNW Maths Hub Lead. The Maths Hub programme is a DfE funded programme that is run through the National Centre of Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics. The programme brings together mathematics education professionals in a collaborative national network of 35 hubs, to develop and spread excellent practice for the benefit of all pupils and students.

Recent external roles
In addition to her role as the NNW Maths Hub Lead, Helen is a work group lead on the accredited NCETM PD Lead Accreditation programme and a work group lead for the Subject Knowledge Enhancement project. She is a Mastery Specialist for the Maths Hub programme with a focus on developing mastery pedagogy within schools.
