Biography

I first entered the medical world as a first aider covering events in and around London when I was 19 years old. This offered lots of experience, some good and some bad. Even working an Oktoberfest in half a tent with gravel for a floor, no lighting and an endless stream of vomit wasn’t enough to put me off, I’d decided this was the career for me.

After gaining a few extra qualifications I went on to university, worked for London NETS, gained my professional registration and have been working as a qualified Paramedic since 2019.

I’m now on my third ambulance service, having trained with London, moved to EEAST and then to SECAMB. Along the way I’ve pushed myself to gain any extra skill that I can including SORT, doing SWAMP training and spending days out with other roles such as HART and UCRT etc. In general, I like being on the clinical end of things and enjoy teaching Clinical Skills, Resuscitation, Maternity & Obstetrics, Trauma, Leadership, Human Factors and EOL care.

I was seconded to University of Cumbria in 2023 as I’ve always enjoyed mentoring university students out on the road. This is my first proper foray into the teaching world so I’m currently undertaking a PgCert in Higher Education to boost my teaching skills.  I can hand on heart say that I love being a Paramedic and I hope to bring that enthusiasm to the classroom.
