Biography
Hello my name is Mary from Ghana in West Africa. I obtained a Bsc in Nursing from the University of Ghana. As part of my training in Ghana, I worked on general and specialist wards. I also worked as a nursing officer on a surgical unit at the main Korle-bu Teaching Hospital. I completed a MPhil in Health Promotion at the University of Bergen in Norway which provided me with both qualitative and quantitative research skills. As part of my research, I had to analyse a large data set using SPSS. My MPhil thesis was on Social determinants and immunisation which was supervised by Professor Torill Bull. I have also worked as an Associate Practitioner on a surgical ward for a large NHS Trust in Kent, where improving patient experience and safety are key values. After completing a PhD in Dementia Care, I worked as a Research Associate in Staffordshire University and as an Assistant Lecturer at Arden University.
