Biography

I am Consultant Clinical Psychologist with Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear NHS Foundation Trust and Research Director for North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust. I primarily work clinically with people with learning disabilities. 

Academic and research interests

My research primarily supports services for people with learning disabilities and autistic adults.

I have been involved in research into the adaptation of psychological therapy for these groups for the past 30 years, I am currenty involved in research developing structured and manualised psychological therapy approaches for people with learning disabilities and autistic adults, research into therapy processes and research supporting mainstream services to wotrk more effectively with people with intellectual disabilities and autistic adults.
