Peter Rooney

Biography

Peter has spent most of his career working in the NHS in Cumbria and since July 2022 on a regional basis. He is currently a Director of Commissioning for the NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, focussed on mental health, learning disability, neurodivergence and all age continuing care. He was previously the Chief Operating Officer for the former North Cumbria and Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Groups and have held a number of Director level roles in the NHS.

Peter is passionate about public service and seeking to fairly improve outcomes for the communities we seek to serve. He has a strong focus on strategic planning, securing value, continuous improvement, and working in partnership with stakeholders
