 Richard Marsh

After a career of 30 years in the civil engineering and subsea oil and gas industry, Richard founded the Levens Civil Consultancy and in addition became a Senior Lecturer at the University of Cumbria, where he is responsible for the development and delivery of courses in Project Management and Commercial Management. Courses delivered to undergraduate students and delegates from local industry.  Richard is currently investigating the use of NEC3 within industry.

Richard is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and also of the Society of Construction Law.

Richard ran his own construction contracting business for 12 years on a national basis focusing on marine and construction projects in and near water.

Richard's career has led him to work, live and visit interesting locations such as South Africa, Libya, Egypt and Stavanger in Norway and has included working in challenging environments such as the Atlantic Ocean and within the Arctic Circle; this has allowed him to fulfil my passion of being involved in engineering and providing solutions to problems.
