Steven Illingworth

Biography

Lecturer in History Education at the University of Cumbria since September 2023. Former secondary school history teacher, local authority educational consultant and involved in teacher training programmes at five different universities.

Qualifications and memberships

Associate Member of Higher Education Association. Hold MA and PGCE. Member of the editorial board for 'The Historian' journal.

Academic and research interests

History - Tudor religious changes and twentieth century pacifism

Education - Use of scholarship in the classroom and engagement of young people with historical sites and museums
