Biography

I have previously worked at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Trust as a surgical nurse specialising in Ear, Nose and Throat; (including tracheostomy and laryngectomy), vascular, urology, opthalmology, Max fax, gynaecology, and general surgery.

After this position, I went on to be a clinical educator within a practice development team as a clinical skills competency framework assessor for venepuncture, cannulation, male and female catheterisation, blood components, nasogastric insertion, nasogastric ongoing care, central venous access devices and verification of expected death.  Within this role I also undertook clinical supervision with registered staff, investigated risks, QUALITY, and incidents to provide bespoke training where required and supported international nursing staff.

I have worked at the University of Cumbria since February 2022 as a lecturer in nursing apprenticeship programmes, and recently finished a secondment as a senior lecturer / programme lead for the nursing associates covering maternity leave for one year.
