MBA - Risk Management (Robert Kennedy College)

All organisations are inevitably faced with risks on an increasing basis, as the speed of change has accelerated in line with the growth of the internet and internationalisation of markets. Consequently the importance of risk management in business has never been more critical, recognising in particular the pressure on companies and managers to be seen to be conscientious custodians through a responsible approach to sustainability and risk management. This programme is designed to help managers to know how to identify risks and effectively manage them within their organisation.

The overall aims of the programme are as follows:

On this course you will...

  • Further develop relevant business, organisation and risk management knowledge, both academic and professional, in line with postgraduate standards/benchmarks;
  • Develop critical skills of reflection and engagement with organisational and professional theory to understand, and where appropriate, challenge existing individual and organisational perspectives and practices (with a particular focus on risk management);
  • Develop, and where appropriate apply, new knowledge (such as Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning) to add value by enhancing organisational capability;
  • Develop understanding of an organisation’s strategic focus and environment, and the impact of the inter-relationship between the organisation’s resources and clients in the evolving global environment;
  • Develop commitment to continuous personal and professional development, independence and reflective learning;
  • Develop particular expertise and understanding in the fields of business, organisations and risk management.

What you will learn

While the MBA is generally seen as the critical qualification for general management, the MBA Risk Management creates distinctive managers with a solid understanding of business functions, such as organisational behaviour, marketing and strategic management, combined with comprehensive knowledge of latest developments through the Essentials of Risk Management module, recognising the increasing importance to organisations of managing risk effectively, and the specific challenges that encompasses.
