PGCE Secondary Lancaster Based Cohort and School Direct Cohort

Your First Day (30th August 2023)

I am thrilled to welcome to the Secondary PGCE course!

The first three days of the course are an induction to familiarise you with many aspects of our PGCE Secondary Programme. 30th and 31st August are in person on our Lancaster Campus, at 09:30 – 17:00 on both days. You will be sent information on where to go in mid-August. The 1st September will be an online induction, the details of which will be shared during your first two induction days.

If you have pre-registered online, you will get access to your student dashboard through our website. On there you will be able to access our virtual learning environment called Blackboard. On Blackboard you will be able to access a large amount of information telling you all about the course.

If you are a PGCE Core student, you may also be given access to your timetable – for the meantime, please do not use this timetable as there are some amendments that need to be made over the summer. You will receive further information about this in mid-August. For now, you should be prepared to come to the Lancaster campus for a 09:00 start on week days in early September.

If you are a School Direct student, you will be given your timetable by your School Direct Alliance.
