About Our School
School Direct is the new way of training teachers which puts schools at the heart of the process. The Catholic Teaching Alliance (North) School Direct programme, led by Our Lady’s Catholic High School in Preston, is a partnership between Catholic secondary and primary schools with a shared vision and commitment to providing first class initial teacher training provision for our trainees, that not only equips trainees with the skills and knowledge required to teach their subject, but also appreciates the distinct nature that working as part of a Catholic community can bring.
Working in partnership with the University of Cumbria we have designed an exciting training opportunity that combines school placement experiences with training and development opportunities that take place across our partnership schools, as well as at the University of Cumbria.
Primary and secondary schools within the CTA School Direct programme range in situation from small rural to coastal to inner city across the Blackpool, Lancashire and Cumbria Education Authorities.
75% of leadership roles in Catholic primary and secondary schools are not filled on first advertisement. We are looking to recruit and train the leaders of tomorrow to improve upon this. Are you that person?
