IT Access
You are able to activate your account the day before your employment starts. You will need your six-digit Employee Number (found on your employment contract) to hand. Follow the instructions on-screen and you will be given your network logon details.
To enable your UoC network logon details you will need to complete one of the following options:
- On your home device before you come onto campus, click here.
- On campus on your data enabled mobile phone, click here.
Once you have activated your account there are limitations on the use of personal devices. You can enrol tablets and mobile phones - you cannot use personal computers and may need to wait until you receive your University allocated device.
In addition we use multifactor authentication to protect our systems.
If you experience any difficulties, please contact the IT Service Desk at itservicedesk@cumbria.ac.uk or 01228 888 888
Pension Information
The university is a member of the Teachers' Pension Scheme (TPS) and offers a group personal pension operated by Scottish Widows. The nature of your duties will determine which scheme is relevant. Staff undertaking teaching roles will be contractually enrolled into TPS whereas those undertaking other duties including marking, research and consultancy will be assessed for automatic enrolment into the Scottish Widows Scheme.
TPS
Further information about this scheme as well as the Member Guide is available here and you can register for My Pension Online here.
This can be used to check your pension benefits and notify TPS of any changes to your personal details.
Scottish Widows
Colleagues who are not teaching will be contractually enrolled into a group personal pension plan, currently operated by Scottish Widows. The employee contribution of 7% (default) of salary is supplemented by 8% from the University. Further information is available from Scottish Widows here. As a member of the plan you also receive benefits relating to life assurance and income protection.
Claiming for Work
Timesheets must be submitted on-line via MyHR under the timesheet forms, in the My Forms section. Further guidance can be found on the MyHR page on StaffHub (this link is only accessible to those with a university staff account).
To ensure your claim is processed, it is essential that all fields are completed correctly. Incomplete claim forms will be returned. Claims are paid retrospectively, and should be submitted by the 2nd of the month for work completed in the previous month. Payment will be made on or around the 26th of that same month.
