Short course - Maternity Workshop
Are you ready to boost your confidence in maternity care?
We’re thrilled to launch a series of NWAS Maternity Workshops designed specifically for paramedics working in the pre-hospital setting. These sessions are packed with practical skills, real-world scenarios, and expert-led learning to help you feel more prepared and empowered.

The first workshop in this series will explore:
Supporting Normal Birth: Explore pregnancy physiology, common conditions, and how to assist a normal birth safely and confidently. Includes hands-on demos and case-based learning.
Managing Complicated Deliveries: Get stuck into shoulder dystocia, breech birth, and cord prolapse through simulation and peer-led scenarios. Learn how to stay calm and lead effectively under pressure.
Expect interactive learning, honest conversations about human factors, and plenty of opportunities to build your clinical leadership.
Whether you’re new to maternity calls or want to sharpen your skills, these workshops are designed to support you.
Spaces are limited – secure your place now by contacting gemma.coombes@cumbria.ac.uk
Let’s make maternity care safer, smarter, and more confident — together.
