Consultations on skill needs have formed a critical part of the Forum discussions. Needs are complex, with different systems and funding processes in place for health, social care and the voluntary/third sector partners. Work is ongoing to identify needs and develop training and education offerings. However, a first step towards this has been the Digital Health and Social Care postgraduate course at the University of Cumbria. This is provided as a part time, blended learning, Continuing Professional Development framework course. The first cohort started in April 2016 and is funded by Health Education England North West, North West Coast Innovation Agency and sponsored by the Lancashire Digital Health Board.
