On successful completion, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a clinical capability, knowledge and understanding of acute/critical illness presentations specific to your clinical practice area
- Appraise the evidence base, guidelines and health care policy which relate to the contemporary therapeutic interventions used for acutely or critically ill patients
- Examine the multi-disciplinary approach to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of this patient group specific to your clinical practice area
- Critically analyse how learning from this module may transform your understanding of your practice.
The module content will provide initial resources to support your learning and development to meet the needs of patients with complex acute/critical illness presentations, including those recovering from critical illness, stepping down from critical care to ward based care and patients within an enhanced care community-based or pre-hospital setting.
The module leader will assist you in identifying key learning resources and strategies relating to the learning outcomes specific to your area of interest. The strategy to meet the learning outcomes will be through a written proposal, developed into a portfolio.
