Module - Disaster Response (HCPD7235)
Develop advanced knowledge, skills and behaviours when engaged in multi-professional working through an all-hazards context by critically analysing the principles of disaster response by addressing preparedness, incident management and resilience using personal experience or learning.
On successful completion, you will be able to:
- Critically review and evaluate the role and contribution of the multi-professional team in disaster planning, response and resilience using a community based approach
- Appraise your own role and ability to perform effectively as a team member or leader in disaster response scenarios
- Reflect upon the effects that result from all hazards emergencies applied to disaster preparedness, response and resilience
- Critically analyse how learning from this module may transform your understanding of your practice.
This module is aimed at individuals who will be expected to respond in all hazards disaster settings. To be eligible to study this module, students must demonstrate the ability to study at this level and commit to attempting the assessment. When taken as part of a specific named award, the module content and assessment must be focussed towards the subject of that award.
Students who successfully complete this module as a stand-alone module will be eligible for a University transcript of credit.
