Barrow-in-Furness Travel Information

Exit the M6 at Junction 36 and follow the A590 west toward Barrow-in-Furness, continuing for approximately 35 miles. As you approach Barrow, stay on Park Road (A590), then turn left at the roundabout onto Ironworks Road, signposted for Barrow Docks and Retail Parks.

Follow Ironworks Road as it curves and becomes North Road, then take the first exit at the next roundabout onto Bridge Road. Continue along Bridge Road and at the following roundabout, take the first exit onto Michaelson Road. Before reaching Michaelson Road Bridge, turn right onto Buccleuch Dock Road — our campus will be on your left as you drive down.

Barrow-in-Furness railway station lies on the Cumbrian Coast Line, with regular services from Lancaster, Preston, and Carlisle. From the station, exit onto Abbey Road and head southwest toward the town centre. Continue along Abbey Road as it becomes Holker Street, then turn right onto Buccleuch Dock Road.

The walk to campus takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes (around one mile), or just five minutes by taxi.
