TEACHING AND LEARNING COMMITTEES
The Academic Board oversees the academic work of the University, in Teaching, Learning and Research. They also superintend the institution's regulations for education, assessment and quality assurance.
The Academic Board and its committees, such as Student Success & Quality Assurance and Academic Strategy and Portfolio, obtain information on teaching effectiveness, as well as staff and student feedback.

The University of Cumbria Board is responsible for control and management of our institution. Information is available on the Board’s responsibilities, with a list of current board members, on our Board of Directors webpage.
University Board Committees include:
- Finance and Resources – provides detailed advice and guidance to the Board on all matters relating to the finances of the University.
- Audit and Risk – advises on the appointment of, and liaises with, external auditors and monitors implementation of agreed audit-based recommendations.
- Academic Governance - provides assurance that academic governance, and the associated internal control framework, operates effectively to secure the quality of students’ experience and the standards of the University’s academic awards.
- People, Performance and Culture - oversees key aspects of staff performance and recruitment.
- Renumeration - determines and reviews the salaries, and terms and conditions, of the Vice Chancellor and other senior members of staff.
- Nominations - responsible for the recruitment and selection of University Board Directors and Associate Directors.
