From Discovery to Graduation
Whether you discovered the University of Cumbria online, at a UCAS fair, or at a school event, we want to make your experience as accessible as possible. That includes supporting you throughout the application process and into your studies, right up until you graduate and achieve your full potential.
Online
Once you begin exploring your subject and our campuses online, you will have access to a menu of accessibility tools. These include: adjustable contrast and saturation settings, dyslexia friendly and larger font, highlighted links, reading guides, and more. This toolkit is available across the website, however if you require further tools, like screen reading and capturing technology, please visit our Accessibility Tools webpage, which features recommended apps, browser extensions, software, and more to help tailor your experience.
Additionally, during the discovery and application process, you may wish to attend online taster sessions and masterclasses hosted by academics in partnership with our Outreach team. Should you require any accommodations to attend these session, please email the Outreach team in advance: outreach@cumbria.ac.uk
On Campus
We host a number of events on campus throughout the year that you may wish to attend. These include Open Days, Campus Tours, Public Lecturers, Taster Sessions, and more. All of our events take place in fully accessibile buidlings. However, should you require alternative accommodations, such as a reader or a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter, please contact us at least 10 working days before the event so that we may discuss your needs and arrange support. Please include a description of your needs and the date, time, type of event, and the campus you will be attending.
For information about specific events, like Open Days, Interview Days, and Application Visit Days, please read below.
