The Dallam Teaching Alliance consists of a variety of secondary schools in and around South Cumbria and will provide you with the opportunity of being part of a school team from the very beginning. We have been working together, in partnership with the University of Cumbria, to ensure that our PGCE School Direct training programme is of the highest quality, providing our trainee teachers with all of the support and resources that they will need to enable them to develop into the outstanding teachers of the future. As part of the programme you will work alongside excellent practitioners and mentors in schools that have a proven track record in providing outstanding teacher training and professional development opportunities. Our trainees will be trained in a highly supportive environment where, through an exciting and innovative curriculum which we have designed, you will develop your professional knowledge, understanding and skills.
Working in partnership with the University of Cumbria we have designed an exciting training opportunity that combines school placement experiences with training and development opportunities that take place across our partnership schools, as well as at the University of Cumbria.
Boarding facilities: If you are from further afield and would like to train with us, we are able to offer boarding facilities at Dallam School.
Outdoor education: Dallam School is a regional centre for outdoor education and an Operating Authority for the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
International dimension: As well as being a local comprehensive, Dallam is home to over one hundred boarders from across the globe including Europe, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Chile and the USA. This means we are truly an international school.
IB School: Dallam, as a World IB School, is unique in offering the International Baccalaureate as well as A level and BTEC courses post 16.
