Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) represents proven programme management good practice in the successful delivery of transformational change through the application of programme management. The MSP® courses cover the AXELOS syllabus for the MSP® framework, blending theory and practical case study work. The trainer will lead the participants through the MSP® framework and will work towards the final examination using sample questions.

 

Duration: Three days (Foundation); two days (Practitioner)

Who is it for?

These courses are suitable for participants with a responsibility for programme delivery including programme managers, programme support office professionals, business change managers, and project managers. Participants should be already working in a programme environment, but no prior knowledge of the MSP method is required. Holding the PRINCE2 Practitioner qualification is an advantage. Participants on the Practitioner course are required to have passed the MSP® Foundation certificate.

Preparation and homework

There is a recommended five hours of pre-course reading required prior to attending the course, consisting of the AXELOS MSP Manual and workbook to ensure participants are prepared for, and gain the maximum benefit from the workshop.

Participants will also be required to do evening work during the week that the course is taking place.

Assessment format

For the Foundation qualification, participants will complete a closed book examination of 60 minutes’ duration consisting of 60 multiple choice questions. A pass mark of 36 (60%) is required to successfully complete this qualification.

For the Practitioner qualification, participants will complete a closed book examination of 2.5 hours duration at the end of the course. Participants are required to answer 58 questions, including 6 matching questions worth 3 marks each, and achieve a pass mark of 42 (60%) to successfully complete the qualification.
