Module - HCPD7296 Safeguarding Across the Lifespan
This module provides an in-depth and critical exploration of safeguarding across the human lifespan. You will evaluate the impact of abuse and neglect on the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and synthesise the effectiveness of multi-agency responses within evolving legal and policy frameworks.
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of the ways that welfare of children/young people and vulnerable adults can be affected by abuse and neglect
- Critically evaluate and synthesise the effectiveness of multi-agency working in the legislative framework at different stages across the lifespan
- Critically examine the complexities of multi-agency working within the safeguarding agenda
- Critically examine and synthesise the recent research, guidelines and policy in this area of Health and Social Care practice
- Critically analyse how learning from this module may transform your understanding of your practice.
You will participate in a sequence of formative thread tasks covering the indicative modular content. These are set via online discussion boards in Blackboard. The formative tasks align with the intended learning outcomes of the module and will develop learning and knowledge around the modular content thereby preparing you to complete the summative assessment.
