Your Career with an Acting Degree

You'll be fully-qualified and have the right techniques to take your acting talents to a professional level, going on to work in film, stage and television.

Disability arts pioneer inspires students

Renowned sculptor Tony Heaton OBE is challenging art students to explore societal barriers faced by people with disabilities. Tony presented the issues as he delivered a guest lecture, part of a series of talks organised by the Arts Research Initiative, for University of Cumbria Institute of the Arts staff and students. A selection of his art, material and documents is also on display at the university's creative Carlisle campus.

At the age of 21, entrepreneur Laura Devaney is getting ahead in business thanks to her arts degree – gained 30 years after her mother completed her studies at the same campus. Laura runs two new businesses with her partner Cameron Martin, who is also a member of the University of Cumbria’s alumni association, giving the night-time economy in Carlisle a welcome boost.
