Originally from Accrington, Amy came from a background working in nurseries and schools before taking an Education Studies degree. "I came to university to enhance my knowledge and opportunities. I knew I wanted to work in Education, but didn't know where. I chose Cumbria because it was small, friendly and supportive.

"The Deputy Dean supported me around campus when I broke my foot and made sure I was getting the support I needed."

My favourite experience has been meeting new people, and being part of difference societies. University has made me more confident and taught me to believe in myself.

"I'm so glad I was able to make my mum and dad proud of me for doing my degree, and for the loads of friends I've made along the way. Before starting a career in Education, I am off to Bali with the help of the university."
